I wish I had had something like this when I was moving dirt to backfill a raised bed. I ended up having to shovel out the majority of the dirt I moved simply because the sides of the wheelbarrow I was using was more straight up and down. Plus when I did tip it up, it spilled out into the spaces to the side of where I wanted it. With this wheelbarrow you can get it more pointed at where your load needs to go!

I’m rating the True Temper 6 Cubic Foot Steel Wheelbarrow as a 4.5 out of 5 stars due to its durability, deep tray, steel design, and conversion to a dual wheel system availability. Having a good garden or yard product is invaluable, and as somebody who uses a wheelbarrow on a daily basis for multiple reasons, I believe this is a choice I would be happy with. I only took off half a star because an additional purchase of a dual-tired kit may be needed to make it as sturdy as you might want.
Positive reviews surrounding this particular product praise how tough it is, and how large a load it can actually haul. Plus people like having the steel tray, especially in areas that experience extreme climate changes to avoid cracking of plastic. Maneuverability is considered average for most one tire designs, although the load does sit lower to help with balance. The conversion kit is especially popular with this design as well.

I was unable to find if it could be converted to a dual-tire system however, which may be the main selling difference.This seems like a great product for both homeowners and contractual work as it is well made and of solid steel construction.

Also produced by Ames, The Jackson M6T22 Steel Wheelbarrow is a decent alternative to our reviewed product, It has many similar features but is focused as a contractual grade product despite not having some of the perks the above mentioned have. Although the tray is a thick steel, deep, 6 cubic foot design, the handles are of wood without any sort of grip nor is the tire a never flat tire.
With that being said, this isn’t a shabby wheelbarrow by any means. I just believe it is probably more suited for less heavy work than what a contractor may put it through. It has additional bracing which stabilizes the load and makes it easy to tip up for unloading. The tire and handles are replaceable overtime if needed as well, and overall it seems to be a well built, long lasting product.
