    Only complaint is that I don’t think it’s fair to call anything battery powered zero emissions for a couple of reasons. One is that the process to make these batteries is extremely dirty, batteries need to be replaced after an amount of time and most batteries end up in land fills after use. Two, much of the electric power in the US is not coming from renewable sources.

    There is not allot of good data on what a true emission comparison would look like, but it’s safe to say that these are not zero emissions, instead maybe low emissions?

There may not be emissions during use of a battery-powered string trimmer, but to call it low emissions when you look at the bigger picture is probably a more suitable choice of words.

      • These are misinformation red herrings created by fossil fuel interests; the amount of pollution caused by operating internal combustion engines is grossly greater when compared to the pollution caused by building batteries, especially when you take into consideration the pollution caused by mining, transporting crude oil, refining, transporting fuel, distributing the fuel, and then burning the fossil fuel in the air to run the ICE devices.

  3. If its battery powered it should be called zero emissions, because of course were talking about while it is running, or being in use… not what emissions it takes to manufacture it… duh.

  4. Why isn’t there a section on “loading the string cartridge”, the most annoying part of string trimmer maintenance ? I understand there are now some units that have a “self loading” cartridge.
