So appearantly there are several methods for cooking beer brats. I have always started with a sear then added beer and boiled it out of the pan with the brats. However, I have been hearing that a "real" beer brat is boiled in beer and onions then finished on the grill, to order. On top of that a local guy here in Colorado says that the best way to "beer" a brat is to brine it overnight then just cook normally the next day.
What is your beer brat process and what beer do you prefer for the brats?
