Degreasing the Bricks

What's the best cleaner you have found to degrease the bricks around your fire pit? We don't do a lot of fire pit cooking but when we do, it sometimes gets messy.

I have never degreased the bricks, I have just replaced them. I don't know what you could use. You would want to use something that is nontoxic.

What have you tried dipsydo? I think I would start with some good soapy water with a degreasing dish detergent. If that doesn't work you can always get stronger cleaners.

Just use really hot boiling water. If that doesn't work, then make a huge fire and let the heat melt away the grease.
