Grilled lettuce for salad

My family loves Caesar salad for dinner. Tonight I am making this, but I have decided to try and grill the whole head of romaine lettuce. I am going to slice it horizontally and drizzle both halves with a little olive oil and season it generously with salt and black pepper. I think this is going to be the perfect combination with the grilled chicken and peppery dressing. Has anyone ever tried grilling lettuce before?

No but it sounds good. I suppose the trick to this would be not to leave it on the grill too long. Do let us know how it turns out. It may be something I would like to try. :)

Never thought about grilling the lettuce first for a salad. It does sound interesting. I might have to try it.

Wouldn't it taste wilted? I think it sounds interesting. I like the idea of drizzling oils over it first. Let us know how it turned out and if everyone loved it.

I would have never thought to have tried grilling lettuce. It actually doesn't sound very appealing to me. Then again, I am definitely not a fan of salad to begin with.

This is the first time I am hearing about grilling lettuce. I wonder how it tastes? I am not sure if I would like it or not. How did yours turn out?
