Thinking of finally getting a Weber. Is this a good one?

In terms of Weber Genesis, I'd give them a strong recommendation. I still have a 1997 Weber Genesis 3000 barbecue that has logged a lot of “grill” miles and looks virtually new.
When it comes to the grates, it's "every man for himself." I have the porcelain enamel grates on my Genesis, which I like. I ultimately replaced them about 2015/16.

Right now, I have several grills on hand, two of which have cast iron grates. You'll have to take a bit more care with CI grates, and they'll rust if you don't season them properly and keep the process going. To be true, they leave some interesting scorch marks.
